Christine Uy, MD, F.A.C.E

Board Certified Endocrinologist

Dr. Uy is a board-certified physician in Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism. She also is board certified by the American Board of Obesity Medicine & a member of the Endocrine society & Obesity Medicine Association. In addition, she is a fellow of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology. 

She completed her endocrinology fellowship from The State University of New York, Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York

She completed her Internal Medicine residency from the University of Connecticut Health Center in Farmington, Connecticut

We are very excited about having Dr. Uy joining our practice & strongly believe that she will be a great addition to the Institute of Endocrinology.

 


 

 

ORLANDO OFFICE NOW OPEN! Shehzad Topiwala MD, F.A.C.E

Endocrinologist

After completing post-graduate training in Internal Medicine - Endocrinology, from SUNY (State University of New York) at Buffalo in 2009, Dr. Topiwala (Dr ‘T’) has been practicing principally in Florida for over a decade. He is the lead physician at IEDHH’s Orlando office.

A 2001 Mumbai University medical graduate, Dr T was conferred the prestigious International Diabetes Federation Award in 2006, making him India's first & only IDF Fellow. He was further bestowed with the esteemed Endocrine Scholar Award by the US Endocrine Society in 2007. A year later, he was honored with the coveted Resident Professionalism Award at University of Buffalo. In 2013, he was ceremonially recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology (F.A.C.E), a life-long privileged distinction.

Dr T is well published, & serves as a peer reviewer for scientific work in the realm of Endocrine medicine. He is certified in Bone Densitometry, Neck Ultrasound & Thyroid Biopsies, Intensive Insulin-Pump-Sensor technology, & Laboratory Directorship. He is a regional Ambassador for the National Osteoporosis Foundation, & a Committee member of the popular Hormone Health Network.

His interventional skills are evident in the multitude of office procedures he conducts: Implantable Glucose Sensors, Inhaled Insulin pre-screening with Lung function testing, Smart Insulin pens, Body Composition Analysis & Intensive Behavioral Therapy for Chronic Weight management, limb Doppler for PAD (Peripheral Arterial Disease) screening, Neuropathy & Retinopathy testing, infusion of complex Osteoporosis medications, Interpreting Sleep studies for diagnosing Sleep Apnea, Interpretation of Radio-active Iodine Uptake & Scan studies) to manage thyroid problems, reading DXA Bone Density scans, & inserting Bio-Identical Hormone pellets.

Dr T further offers an in-house accredited Diabetes Self-Management Education-Training-Support Program, Nutrition-Wellness platform, provides Tele-medicine consultations & hosts on-site Clinical trials for modern endocrinologic treatments, which makes the Institute of Endocrinology a referral Center of Excellence providing Comprehensive Endocrine-Diabetes Care.

In addition to managing complicated Diabetes, Blood Pressure, Cholesterol, Obesity & Thyroid problems, Dr T also currently handles all general endocrine conditions, including low T/ED in men, Menopause, Osteoporosis, Metabolic Syndrome, Fatty Liver, Pre-Post Weight loss Surgery care, PCOS, Gender Affirming Medicine, as well as all Pituitary / Prolactin / Growth hormone / Sodium / Electrolyte / Parathyroid / Calcium / Adrenal & Neuro Endocrine disorders.

Dr T communicates proficiently in English, Hindi, Gujarati, Urdu & Marathi. He often volunteers his time & expertise at community forums to enhance metabolic health i.e. prevent pre-diabetes & childhood obesity while optimizing heart & bone health.

Delia Brazzell

APRN Delia Brazzell has been practicing as a nurse practitioner for the past four years and being in the medical field for the past 14 years. She has experience in inpatient and outpatient practice. She graduated with her master’s degree from the University of South Alabama in 2017. She obtained her AA and BSN from Northwest Florida State College.

She specializes in gastroenterology, hospice, general medicine, and diabetes management. She worked in the past for Sacred Heart hospital, Baptist hospital, and Parrish hospital. She is a member of the American Gastroenterology Association and recently joined the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology.

She is a compassionate provider, equipped with an extensive nursing background. She is effective at educating patients and their families in making informed decisions and ensure the proper patient care.

Sumalee joined the practice in 2021 at the Panama City location. Her primary goal is to help people achieve better control of their chronic health conditions. She understands that every patient is unique, and uses this as a foundation when designing and customizing a treatment plan.
